January 11, 2008, Newsletter Issue #258: Rearing

Tip of the Week

Rearing is the single most dangerous vice that a horse can have. It is my recommendation that if anyone has a horse that is REARING, to spend the time to research in your local area, a Trainer with several high (well spoken) recommendations that has had many years experience in helping horses to overcome this habit, and successfully without any Rider being hurt. You can ask your Equine Veterinarian, Farrier, and at Boarding Stables for their recommendations. When you have found that person, it is well worth your $$$ to spend on having the problem cured professionally. Or try and find a Rodeo String to purchase the horse off of you for Meat Value. This is not a vice to gamble with. This vice can be very, very dangerous.
