Tip of the Week

Education is the best possible way we can do better by our horses, and thus ourselves. Exploring, reading, learning and preparing are absolutes before assuming responsibilities for the life of an animal and help us to make intelligent, educated and safer decisions for their health and happiness. Although horses have their own way to educate us all in the long run, Forewarned is forearmed.
There is nothing that compares to interaction with someone on the scene who knows you and your horses personally. Building a local network of reliable sources we can seek information from is imperative and should begin with the professionals who service your horse since they have a direct interest in the animals well being. Routine and regular care from your veterinarian and farrier are simply necessary for your horse’s physical health, as it would be for any other pet or your children, making them your foremost source for health issues. These professionals know your geographical area and are excellent sources for referrals to other professionals who can assist with other issues. Being smart will keep both you and your equine partner healthier and happier forevermore
