Tip of the Week

1) How long have they been riding?

2) How long have they owned their own horses; and do they care for their own horses; and if so, for how long?

3) How long have they given lessons at the level of Riding that I am currently at; and how long have they given lessons to the level that I am striving for?

4) Who do they go to for lessons and further training; how frequently?

5) Where did they apprentice, and who were they working for to gain their knowledge and experience?

The Oldenburg - The Breed of The Week

Many of the current Oldenburgs became very important for breeding. Especially the Anglo Normans FURIOSO II and FUTURO, both sired by the legendary French FURIOSO XX. Another famous French stallion in Oldenburg is INSCHALLAH X an Anglo Arab. Whereever you look, the Oldenburg riding horses are very successful in jumping as well as in dressage. Everyone knows the mare WEIHAWEJ under Franke Sloothaak and BONFIRE under Anky van Grunsven (see picture) or the stallions DONNERHALL and his son DON PRIMERO under Karin Rehbein. A highlight of every year is the Körung (see our Tour to Germany)of the 2 year old stallions in November in the city of Oldenburg. For three days approx. 60 youngsters (preselected from over 500!) are presented to the commission.
