October 17, 2003, Newsletter Issue #147: Pasture & Property Management Tips

Tip of the Week

Now that the Rotortilling and the Lyming processes have been done. Consult your local Agricultural office, or a interested Veterinarian in the type of grasses that will grow the best in your particular area, and in the pasture location you have planned. Plant the seeds, and then manure.

Determinations will be soil, shade, water, winds, sun and length of season.

Now fertilize the fields with preferably a Chicken Manure. There are several books available on the Manure of Choice for your area, and for your soils.

After fertilization, then you can take a break for a few months. Let us hope that the rains follow the processes, and give God`s assistance on our work to make great pasture and hay fields.
